This is five duets made with piano and modular synth. I was inspired by the artist KangHee Kim (@tinycactus). She takes a photo and finds one area to add a bit of surrealism, like the title of track one "Clouded Street Sign". I wanted to find ways that I could pair these two very different instruments. Through compositional guidance from the amazing Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, I used time based effects like the Echophon and the ErbeVerb to bridge the gap...also some real inward listening.

It is an incredible time for dance moving to video in new ways. With so much struggle this year, a real contribution to the light in the world has been the innovation and adaptation in dance. Musicians and dancers are collaborating to make short films while in isolation and sharing them online constantly. I wanted to capture this moment along with this music and asked six dancers/choreographers to collaborate for each track on the album (Katie Sherman/Ellie van Bever/Becca Webb/Heather Gray/Kelly Hurlburt and Josh Hines). The movement and music videos are beautiful. We hope this work brings just a bit of light into your life.
